Florals are super fun. It's one of those patterns that has no season and exudes femininity and grace. But there is a danger that if we go overboard with florals, we end up looking like a walking garden, so here's how to rock florals.

Choose a print to match your personality
With such a wide range of florals, the no 1 thing to do is to look for a print that reflects your personality.

Smaller, soft prints look more feminine and dainty, while brighter, graphic prints are bolder and eye catching. Make sure that the print makes you feel good.

Stick with the same colour palette
To mix and match your florals, you can pair it with neutrals, or alternatively, you can match them with similar colours in the print.

a nude pair of heels is a good choice when wearing florals
Choose the more dominant colour of the print, OR pick up a minor colour of the print and play with pieces in similar hues. Don't get lots of pieces in lots of colours though - choose one key colour that complements the floral print and then run with it.

This is where it can get tricky.
Generally speaking, because florals have a lot going on, it's best to stick to simple, thoughtful accessories. I usually suggest going with minimalist or "un-fussy" accessories to offset what's going on in the florals - so that you don't overpower your look.

Add contrast
A good way to add sophistication with your florals is to wear it with contrasting pieces.

Wear a floral top with a sleek pair of skinny jeans. Or create a bit of surprise with a soft floral dress and a leather jacket or sharp looking blazer. It's all about placing the feminine floral next to a really sleek piece.
