Four ways to wear a statement blouse
If you're going to spend any kind of (serious) moolah on a piece of clothing, you want it to make it worth your while. When Jenny the designer at Kelly & Port sent me this blouse, I knew it was a keeper. But I also knew it was a statement piece -- so my BIG question was, will this blouse go the distance and can it be worked into a variety of outfits?
The answer (in short) is YES.
It's a versatile blouse, and despite the price tag, is worth every single dollar. Here's four ways to wear it (and I could of SOOOO many more!!!!)
Elegant Workwear
Trousers from Trenery. Shoes from Shoes Of Prey. Bag from Tilkah. Blouse from Kelly & Port. Dog - not for sale.
First, I matched it for work with a pair of grey Trenery trousers. These trousers are FANTASTIC (I will be doing a separate blog post on them is how much I love them).
They are a cropped trouser, so if you're very tall it probably won't work. They also have a front pleat, so if you carry most of your weight in your hips and tummy, again - give this a miss.
It does requires ironing!!! But despite all of what I've said - they sit beautifully, are the perfect Autumn length / weight and the most gorgeous colour that I will forgive the ironing!!
Lunchtime Chic
Dressing for a nice lunch out can be a little challenging.
What's too casual? And how do we also not go over the top?
A statement blouse gives a little ooomph to a pair of shorts or a skirt, then all you need are a pair of wedges and a few little accessories.

After-5 Glam
It goes without saying that a bling top can hold its own with a bling bottom.
So for an after-5 soirée, I've matched the blouse with an equally out there skirt and a little purse for some serious glam factor.

The Stylish Weekend Runaround
I think the ultimate test with any outfit is whether you can make it work from one extreme to another. And this is the kind of blouse that does just that.
Even with the sparkly detail, it does not look out of place with a pair of jeans and an oversized casual tote for running around on the weekend. Just keep it untucked and pair it with wedges or flats to keep the look casual.
