Runway to Real Way: Jessica Biel
Following your very positive feedback on our Runway to Real Way Miranda Kerr outfit, here's another - this time with Jessica Biel aka Mrs Sexy Back. I love this look because it's easy - anyone can wear it - and yet sophisticated. It's the sort of outfit that I would call dressed up but not trying too hard. You could throw this ensemble on for a winter brekkie, shopping with the girlfriends, casual date or (my favourite) to a school concert (love watching other mothers secretly dying inside, wondering how you always look so good!!!).

Deconstructing Jessica's look:
The thing I love about this look is that you are likely to already own many of the pieces as it really is just a bunch of well put together essentials.
Let's start with the jeans. A grey / slate / light charcoal - whatever you want to call the colour - is a great alternative to black or blue jeans. It's still just as versatile and the pair I have selected from Just Jeans are a pocket-friendly $69.95 so a good option if you aren't 100% sure about investing high $$$ in grey jeans.
The key with Jessica's look is to ensure your jeans are long enough to tuck in to a pair of black ankle boots, just as she has. This is what keeps the look streamlined and a bit edgier than just having your jeans over your boots as you normally might do.
And then the final pieces - make sure your white shirt does not look like a typical white work shirt - this is key. See how Jessica's is far from those buttoned up numbers we wear in to the office. It does need to have some length to it too - not too short, as you want this to layer nicely over the jeans.
The piece de resistance is the jacket. And boy have I found a great option at a much more "I'm-not-married-to-Justin-Timberlake" acceptable price point!!! This Jag jacket below is a fab addition to your wardrobe. It's a bit hard to see from the image but it has zip detail on the shoulder line. Which makes it look uber cool and funky, rather than drab.
It's also made in ponte (a stretchy, soft but structured fabric) that is not only just so forgiving but again will make this jacket more weekend than work-schmirk. It is shorter than the one Jessica is wearing but that is deliberate - most of us unless we are blessed with lots of height will look better in a shorter jacket rather than one that is too long. You can also wear this jacket open over your shirt rather than buttoned up.
Finish with a studded black bag and voila! Jessica Biel is in your wardrobe!
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Happy styling xx
