The "IT" bag this season and where to find it
There’s an “IT” bag this season and I’ve done all the hard work to find it for you.
In essence, you’ll want to get your hands on anything woven, made out of straw or materials like reed or wood - because this humble little bag is all the rage this season.
Yes, you will be doing the grocery run in very chic style when you’re piling your fruit and veg in to a woven shopping basket. Your maxi dress for drinks and lunch will be crying out for little straw clutch and your next trip to the beach won’t be complete without a straw bag with pom poms on it!
So, which bags and where to find the “IT” bag this season? Read on below!
1. The straw clutch
Every cute outfit you’re wearing to drinks, lunch or dinner will be style amplified with the addition of a simple straw clutch. It will literally transform plain old black to super stylin’ in a flash.

These shopping bags honestly do make shopping at your local market or super-sized wholesale store just that much more enjoyable.
You’ll feel good saving on disposable bags. You’ll find they are easy to carry and fit loads. And most importantly your flowers will look oh so wonderful in it.

3. The straw tote
The carry-all bag for this season, you’ll find many variations of these at the moment.
From simpler versions in straw and black to ones with pom poms (be warned these little balled suckers are EVERYWHERE at the moment - from bags, to hats, scarves and shoes!) this is a fun way to lug all your beach essentials.

How to wear it?
If you’re new to the straw bag trend, here’s my starter tips:
1. Don’t over invest
This is one of those trends that fits in the “20%” of the “80/20” rule that I talk about in my book. In short, this is a trend piece so don’t spend too much of your fashion budget on it.
I’ve literally seen straw bags (albeit very nice ones) retailing for hundreds of dollars. Unless you’re super sure about this trend, look for something from a high street store where you’ll get the look for less.
2. Pick simple
If you’re not sure, choose a simple style with minimal embellishment and colours as it’ll be easier to match with a variety of outfits.
3. Which shoes?
These bags look especially fantastic worn with fabulous day time outfits, and work fantastically well with wedges, espadrilles and dressy flats.
So with loads of ways to rock the "IT" bag this season, grab a straw something or other and enjoy looking tres chic in an instant!
