I have loved Ari Seth Cohen's blog on style for the over-60's set for ages. And while I know a lot of you wonderful peeps reading this aren't yet in that age group (and a big warm shout out to those of you who are), you will be blown away at what you'll learn from this set.

Ari has a fantastic coffee table book with images of these gorgeous women (Book Depository is where I got my copy as they have free shipping). And I've savoured every single page.

Some of the women he features are timelessly elegant. Some are a little kooky (I think I've seen what Lady Gaga will look like in 40 years). But all are self-assured in their bodies, their age and have the confidence to dress however they want to - and not conform to the stereotypes we give mature women when it comes to fashion.

Here's my 3 picks and what I've learnt from each of them:

1. Joyce

Looking at photos of Joyce makes me feel embarrassed that I sometimes duck out to the dog park in a ratty pair of jeans, no make-up and my hair in a pony tail. This is a lady who at 80 years old, is impeccably groomed. All the time.

Not a hair out of place, perfect make up and beautiful accessories. The next time I try to rush out the door without any lippy on I'm going to think of Joyce.

2. Ilona

You all know my fashion mission is to get women to show their arms. You all also know how I feel about embracing your body at any age (if you missed that post, do catch up here because it will change how you view your own body).

So the bottom line is this - if Ilona can show off her arms and enjoy it this much, you can too!!!! (No, seriously. You can.)

3. Ruth

Ruth is 100 years old. She does pilates, wears great accessories and has not let age diminish her penchant for a skirt and a scarf. I'm ashamed to say I can barely get in to plank position much less hold it for any amount of time... yet Ruth can!
